My oldest child was being treated for a relapse of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia diagnosed in July 2008 followed by a relapse in his central nervous system in the fall of 2009. Cancer was, unfortunately, an enormous part of our lives for three years.
My middle child is a gifted student. She also leans towards being OCD, but she comes by it naturally :) It is a constant challenge to keep her intellect fed while managing those OCD tendencies.
My youngest child has been diagnosed as "twice exceptional" being both gifted and learning disabled. We have struggled for years now to help her learn strategies to cope in the traditional education system.
As you can probably already guess, my children are the center of my life, but there is more to me than my children... a fact I have had to learn over time. I am an avid reader, and will likely let you know what I am reading. I love to cook and bake. I'm learning to do both with more consideration given to health and balance in our diets. I'll be sharing my journey towards a healthier kitchen. I also enjoy sewing and tatting, mostly for gifts for family and friends, but I do sell some items.
More than any one thing, this blog will be about our journey, the ups and downs, the unvarnished picture. You are welcome to join us as we travel along!
